Avanti Architects in collaboration with Notting Hill Home Ownership and the Isokon Trust won a competition sponsored by Camden Council to aquire, conserve, renovate and regenerate this Grade I Modernist landmark (by Wells Coates, 1934) that had in recent years fallen into an acute state of disrepair.

The works comprise all the operations necessary to re-establish a sound and architecturally authentic building envelope. These include the requisite remedial structural measures and comprehensive rehabilitation of the reinforced concrete fabric; replacement of asphalt waterproof coverings and upgrading of insulation values; renewal of wall/ceiling/floor finishes, windows and doors; refurbishment of light metalwork elements and fitted joinery and complete renewal of services.

The scheme will provide 25 flats for sale under shared ownership exclusively to keyworkers, and 11 further flats will be sold on the open market.
