This house was designed by Peter Moro and Richard Llewellyn Davies in the late 1930s and completed shortly after the outbreak of war. The property has been described as a rare early modern re-interpretation of the traditional country house. Though listed Grade II in 2000 it had deteriorated to a condition unworthy of its significance and value.

The house has now been fully restored with an upgrade in the building performance and complete replacement of services. Repair works comprised replacement of roof coverings, reinstatement of the distinctive rooftop screen, repair of exterior brickwork and exposed concrete elements, replacement of the (non-original) windows to a more authentic design, and reinstatement of lost original colours.

Internally, several judicious interventions have been made to suit current lifestyle requirements – linkage of the kitchen and dayroom and connection of both these areas with the waterside view. A new swimming pool and stand-alone garden pavilion designed in a fully contemporary idiom complete the project.
