This building, the first ambulatory care and diagnostic centre in the UK, has been described as one of the most seminal healthcare buildings of the last decade.

Avanti was appointed after an international two-stage selection process involving a limited design competition. The brief was developed in an intensive period of 82 meetings with clinicians and Trust staff. The building was completed on time and on budget.
